Juuri Partners’ ESG Policy

The cornerstones of Juuri Partners’ ESG policy are a commitment to objectives, a shareholder value-driven approach, activeness and relevance as well as reporting and participation. The Board of Juuri Partners Oy approves the corporate responsibility principles that the company follows.

Commitment to objectives

Juuri Partners Oy is committed to being a responsible investor and owner. The objective of our corporate responsibility efforts is to develop even more valuable and responsible companies with a higher growth potential into the Finnish society.

As a private equity investor, our biggest impact on corporate responsibility issues is made through our portfolio companies. Corporate responsibility is therefore integrated into our investment process, ownership agenda and reporting. We have worked in cooperation with responsible investment experts to create tools tailored for Juuri Partners to achieve our corporate responsibility objectives. These tools support our entire investment organisation in selecting investment targets as well as identifying and managing relevant corporate responsibility themes in our portfolio companies.

Shareholder value driven approach

The objective of our investment operations is to generate long-term increase in shareholder value in our portfolio companies by linking corporate responsibility themes to the strategic goals of our portfolio companies. We believe that corporate responsibility is an important aspect in creating value and managing the risks associated with our portfolio companies. Already during the investment phase, we aim to identify the relevant corporate responsibility issues pertaining to our portfolio companies and their potential impact on shareholder value. Corporate responsibility aspects may also lead to the exclusion of potential investment targets.

Active engagement and materiality

As an active minority owner, we have the opportunity to directly influence the corporate responsibility issues of our portfolio companies. However, our portfolio companies are SMEs, and we need to scale our responsibility efforts in accordance with their resources and the relevance of the responsibility issues. Systematic monitoring and management of relevant corporate responsibility issues that affect shareholder value are fundamental to our operations as an owner of our portfolio companies.

Reporting and Participation

We report corporate responsibility issues as part of our quarterly financial reporting. In addition, we regularly meet with our investors and other stakeholders to engage in a continuous discussion on responsibility themes. We also seek to actively participate in promoting responsible investment and ownership in our industry.
