CoE Group acquires Product Design & Technical Documentation business from Gofore

CoE Group, a Finnish engineering and consulting company serving the energy and industrial sectors, has agreed to acquire Gofore’s Product Design & Technical Documentation business. Upon completion of the transaction, approximately 120 product design and technical documentation experts will transfer to CoE Group.

The business being acquired provides design services for physical products, equipment assemblies and technical documentation to customers in the industrial and defence sectors. The business is currently part of Huld Oy, which belongs to the Gofore Group.

The transaction is expected to be completed on 1 September 2026, following the completion of Huld Oy’s ongoing partial demerger.

The acquisition is a significant step in CoE Group’s growth strategy. Through the arrangement, the company’s headcount will grow to approximately 300 experts, and its ability to serve customers in the energy, industrial and technology industries will be significantly strengthened.

– We are very pleased to welcome around 120 experienced design and documentation professionals into the CoE community. The acquisition significantly strengthens our expertise and enables us to offer even broader service packages to our customers. At the same time, we are strengthening our position as a Finnish expert company in the technology and engineering sector, says Sami Kivioja, CEO of CoE Group.

Particular reinforcement for the Machine & Product Engineering business

The acquisition particularly supports the growth of CoE Group’s Machine & Product Engineering business. The acquired business’s strong expertise in mechanical engineering, product development and technical documentation complements CoE’s current services and creates new opportunities for customers.

Through the acquisition, CoE Group expands its capability to serve industrial production facilities and technology companies comprehensively across automation, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical engineering as well as product development.

– Our customers’ investment projects are continuously growing in size and complexity. With this acquisition, we are better able to meet these needs by bringing broad technical engineering expertise, project delivery capability and strong industry knowledge under one organisation, Kivioja continues.

Cooperation with Gofore continues

In connection with the acquisition, CoE Group and Gofore have agreed on long-term cooperation aimed at offering customers even more comprehensive service packages. The companies’ competencies complement each other particularly at the interfaces of industrial digitalisation, software development and physical product design.

Juuri Partners as a growth partner

Acquisitions are a natural part of the company’s growth strategy, and we are glad to support this journey as an active owner going forward as well, says Tommi Asmala, Partner at Juuri Partners.
