Outdoor gym manufacturer Omnigym achieves 30% annual revenue growth and expands into Asia

23.6.2026

FINLAND (June 2026) – Outdoor gym manufacturer Omnigym with gyms in 18 countries has recently expanded to the Asian metropolises of Singapore and Bangkok. The company has grown profitably and last year’s turnover rose to €6.6 million, with growth of 30 per cent. The strong momentum has continued into 2026, with the first half of the year delivering record growth and marking the strongest start to a year in the company’s history.

Omnigym is revolutionizing the outdoor fitness category with weight adjustable equipment combined with outstanding user experience. The company aims to offer everyone a low-threshold opportunity to look after their physical fitness next to urban commuter flows and establish its position as part of urban infrastructure in the same way as schools, parks and other basic public services are.

Last year, Omnigym’s turnover rose to €6.6 million. Following a year of 30 per cent growth, the company now aims to double its turnover in the coming years.

In major cities where space is limited and daily life is often fast-paced, exercise must be both easily accessible and simple, from beginners all the way to athletes. Omnigym has responded to this need successfully: of the company’s 800 outdoor gym locations and thousands of pieces of equipment, more than 300 locations are outside Finland. Right now, Omnigym’s equipment is already in use on three continents and the aim is for the company to have outdoor gyms on every continent by 2030.

Recently Omnigym expanded to the Asian metropolises of Singapore and Bangkok.

“The Mayor and representatives from the international Cities for Better Health project in Bangkok were impressed by our outdoor gym in Copenhagen, and before we knew it, we opened an outdoor gym in Bangkok. Meanwhile In Singapore, we opened our first gym in Sea Shell Park. In both cities, the outdoor gyms have also received a lot of positive attention, says Omnigym’s CEO Kirsti Laasio.

Important part of city attraction, health, and safety

Omnigym outdoor gyms are commonly found in public areas in towns and municipalities, thanks to urban planners who have recognised the importance of outdoor gyms not only as promoters of health but also as factors that attract and retain residents. Helsinki has been a pioneer in this development, and Omnigym has also established a strong presence in other major European cities, including Stockholm, Paris and Copenhagen. Outdoor gyms are increasingly also being acquired by the private sector, armed forces, housing associations, senior and student housing foundations and highway service stations.

“Our outdoor gyms have been well received in the Nordics, where our user studies and usage measurements show that they are used all year round. From the very beginning, we have been confident that there would be international interest in the equipment as well, where urban space is often more limited, allowing rooftop space, for example, to be put to innovative use”, continues Laasio.

In major cities, outdoor gyms have also been found to increase the sense of safety, as meaningful activities increase and disruptive behaviour decreases. Furthermore, cities are investing in better lighting, for example, thanks to outdoor gyms.

According to feedback from over 20 000 users, almost half of Europeans prefer to exercise in parks and outdoors: “We don’t want to be just an equipment manufacturer; we want to reach out specifically to those who would not otherwise exercise. According to our research and data, around 20 per cent have started strength training after becoming inspired to work on their fitness in our gyms. Based on our experience, the figure is likely even higher,” says Laasio.
